Too Busy To Talk

Last week, I shot and edited a fun romp for a BMO exec.

Green Screen

Using a green screen is a great way to add some visual interest to a project. You can replace the green with any graphic treatment you can dream up... which is executed later, during the post production process.  More often than not, we can bring a small, portable green screen to an office, or boardroom - and get great results. Several examples can be found elsewhere on this site.

I'm often asked if we can have the option of seeing the entire length of the actor's entire body on-screen - which is a great look for a website. It seems like a simple request, but it does cost more, because the shoot has to take place in a studio, where we can paint the floor chroma-key green. The lighting can be very tricky, as well.

Here's a behind the scenes look at what a green screen shoot in a studio looks like - for a web based project I am working on for pension giant John Hancock.

Social Networking

I've been working on a snazzy promo video for social networking guru, Barry Libert, who heads up social software developer Mzinga Inc. - based in Burlington, Massachusetts.

His rousing presentation to a group of executives in New York help spawn one of my favorite testimonials in a while: "(There was a) lot of twittering. My Face. Your Face. It lent some clarity to it all, that's for sure."

Canada Bread

Spent a couple of days with a crew collecting funky images for a funky, high powered montage. We followed product from the factory to the warehouse to the store -- which included a ride with one of those middle of the night delivery guys who get it all to store shelves so you can have your bread fresh each morning.

"...the bread video was crazy-good."

Tornado Damage

Last month, at least five twisters touched down in Southern Ontario, damaging hundreds of homes. Yesterday, I began chronicling the recovery and restoration efforts of one homeowner, whose roof was swept away, rendering the interior of her house unlivable.
